My newest work is at Woodhouse Family Estates Winery in Woodinville!

Donna at Woodhouse is generous, welcoming and really a doll!  She is setting up their Spring and Summer wine release parties and I’m happy to say I will be attending the Spring Release on Friday, February 25th!

Happily, for members, this event is “closed” in that you have to be a winery member to attend (or one of their 3 lucky guests), but I’m telling you, it would be a shame not to be a BIG fan of this family of wines!  Don’t take my word for it; come and taste 7 days a week and see for yourself…oh, and there will be great art there, as well!  The Shah family really knows what they are doing!

Jennifer and Jerry are two cool young winemakers and cellar owners. The Guardian tasting room/Gallery in Woodinville feels like a Downtown Seattle club scene. The wines are few, but delectable and the owners are hip and genuine. The European kind of genuine. If you ask, they will be honest; not very American. As truly American as I am, I admire the ability to rise above (or sink below) our upbringing and to be unpolitical (not always trying to market yourself). Please go see my gorgeous new works, and at the least, try one or all of Guardian’s offerings: Gun Metal, Chalk Line & Angel are my faves…but don’t trust me, I just love wine.

Thank you, Jennifer and Jerry.

September 10-13, 2010 at the Edgewater Hotel in Downtown Seattle was filled with observing, wandering and painting. I gained inspiration from an unlikely source: Our own Seattle Aquarium! Two of my new paintings are based on the octopus’ round tentacles. The new works have a sort of sea-like landscape, but are also abstracted, based on my sense of color, shape, dimension and canvas organization. The natural world, mixed with abstracted design, is continuing to occupy my canvases.

14 Originals sold; 4 prints sold!! Proceeds to benefit King County arts programs.

We had a very successful show and benefit at Red on August 12th! This event displayed the results of my return to painting after a 6-year hiatus, during which I ran a business with quite a few employees, had a baby son, and then moved to North Bend. Living right on the river and at the foot of the mountains has been an incredible inspiration, whereas I thought that moving out of the city would stagnate my artistic drive.
